It’s like one of those crazy late night infomercials; “but wait, there’s more”. I’d seen Hoya pachyclada around, and it was nice enough that I added it to my list. But really way down. Then I saw Hoya subquintuplinervis (outer variegation), and I was smitten. Had to have it.
But wait, there’s more. Hoya pachyclada is now Hoya subquintuplinervis; I can’t fully explain the why, I just get the memos from the front office and work with it. So the all green plant that was on my list, but way down, was the same as the plant that I just added to my list, but way up. Just with outer variegation. I got the one with outer variegation.
But wait, there’s more. There’s inner variegation, too. And when I saw it, I needed that one as well. Which I got. So I had both the inner and outer variegations. It’s one of those instances when I think the inner and outer are equally handsome. Not always the case. But if I had the variegateds, I needed the green version.
Which I got. So now I have the set. The outer arrived in rough shape, but we’ve worked through it and he’s putting out new growth. We all worked through the mite thing, too. So everybody’s now clean and healthy, and seemingly happy.
