An image of new leaves on Hoya chinghungensis

It’s been about eight weeks since the plants from the December Hoya Haul arrived, so it’s time to take a look and see how they’re doing.

I’m liking Hoya chinghungensis more than I expected. It started putting out new growth almost immediately, and I really like the small internodal spacing of the alternating leaf pairs. Definitely a good choice.

Hoya insularis really surprised me with all the new growth. I’m not sure what I expected, but it wasn’t this. I thought I was going to have it trail, but it’s growing so quickly a trellis might be a better idea.

Hoya microstemma is a cute little thing that’s just kinda chugging along. It’s not off to one side of the shelf, but I think it needs a more central location to balance out that leaf growth.

Hoya occultata is doing pretty much what I expected. I have a couple of thin leafed hoyas, so I knew what to expect, and he seems to be right on schedule.

And there you have it. So far, I’d recommend all these guys, no special care, no trauma, no drama, just good growth.

I’ll keep you posted.
