This hoya, Hoya crassipetiolata, has been here for about a year and a half. For a long time, she was just a long green stick with a couple of leaves. Beautiful leaves, yes, just not enough of them.
After about six months of minimal growth, she got better light and better food and started growing. She’s been a good grower since then. Enough so that she needs to be repotted and to get a bigger trellis. So, I’m taking pictures now, because after this weekend she’s not going to be happy with me.
Normally repotting wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but I’m going to move her to pon. She’ll stall out and the growing tips will die back. There will be some root damage and there will be some recovery time. I know, it’s not the first time I’ve moved a hoya from bark and sphag to pon.
But in the long run she’s going to appreciate the change. After some pouting, they always do. And when she’s resettled, there’ll be more pictures of her in her new digs.
I’ll keep you posted.
