Hoya lithophytica leaves - Hoya thomsonii, Hoya tsangii, Hoya lithophytica

When I was looking through the plant shelves, I realized there were several hoyas I’d never spotlighted, that deserved their turn. I think perhaps it’s because I wasn’t sure they’d make it. But they did and are doing well.

Hoya thomsonii is just as furry as it looks, and definitely feels like velvet to the touch. He was a little slow to get going, but once he got settled and a bit more light the vines started growing.

Hoya tsangii was labeled as “the real tsangii” to differentiate it from that other plant. I was worried about it for a while. It’s something of a thinner leafed hoya, and I wasn’t sure how much light it could tolerate and water it wanted. I think we’ve reached an understanding.

This is try number two for Hoya lithophytica, and I think we’re doing OK. It’s not as delicate as I thought and wanted more light than I thought it could take. I love the small, dark green leaves, and that vine just keeps reaching out. It’s more of a rambler than a climber, but rambling space is at a premium, so, we’ll see.

Now they’ve had their few minutes of fame, they can get back to work growing.

I’ll keep you posted.
