Hoya elliptica

I’ve always liked Hoya elliptica. It was one of the first hoyas on my wish list, one of the first hoyas I sought out. Hoya elliptica hasn’t always liked me.

I think there are several reasons, but they all fall under the heading of operator error. They usually do. It wanted more water than I was giving it. It wanted more light than I was giving it. It wanted better food than I was giving it. In general, it was early in my hoya adventure, and I didn’t know what I was doing.

Now that I’ve addressed those things, he seems happier. There are a couple of new vines, and a scattering of new leaves, and there is nothing better than new hoya leaves. Especially Hoya elliptica leaves because those leaves are just beautiful.

So now that we’ve kinda worked things out, I’m excited to watch this guy fill out and become lush. I’ve seen pictures of lush ellipticas, and that’s what I want. No pressure though.

I’ll keep you posted.
