Hoya krohniana 'Silver' and Hoya krohniana 'Black'

The first time I posted about one of these krohnianas, I used the name that was on the plant when I bought it, and I was roundly spanked for it. So now I’m just calling it silver, y’all can argue about what it’s “really” named. There’s enough controversy about Hoya krohniana as it is, and I don’t need it.

My first was the silver one, ‘cause I do love some silver variegation. The black one I got because I wanted another krohniana that was the opposite. The silver one stared at me for a long time, then I moved it to pon and gave it better food and light. He’s happy and growing now.

By the time the black one arrived, I’d already made the above changes. He went right into pon with the better food and light, so he was fairly happy from the start. It did seem like he wanted a bit more light, so he’s in a new spot on the shelves.

I’m glad the krohniana boys are doing better, and my plan for opposite plants seems to be working out. Little victories.

I’ll keep you posted.
