He was a freebie, a thank-you cutting included with an order. I’d never heard of Hoya sp. AH-014, but the two leaves were nice looking, and I’ll try and grow most anything. In no time the roots were everywhere. Then came the vine.
An aggressive vine, a thick, really aggressive vine. And more leaves, thick leaves, that were larger than the original ones. Clearly it was time to re-pot. After the re-pot the tip died off. Too bad, it happens. So, it put out another vine, as aggressive as the first.
But then the first vine activated a few grow points and started pushing out new leaves: lots of new leaves at almost every node. Then so did the new vine. And then another vine appeared near the base of the original. And there’s some kind of new growth all over this freaking thing.
So, I’m not complaining, but I am wondering what I’m going to do with this beast of a hoya. And what is it going to turn into. First time I’ve been worried about a plant because it’s growing too well.
I’ll keep you posted.
