Hoya parviflora

For the longest time it was me staring at a stem with only two leaves. Granted they were very pretty leaves, and I was glad that they had survived shipping, but I did want more of them on my Hoya parviflora. When I finally tired of staring, I changed some things around, and this is the result.

Before the details, can we talk about leaves and splash? There are a lot of hoyas with beautiful leaves, and a lot of hoyas with splash, but this must be one of the best splashy leafed hoyas around. It’s like a blizzard on a golf course. It’s fine splash, mist splash, snowflake splash.

So, details. He wanted a bit more of everything, light, air, moisture, and food. Light was easily fixed. Air, moisture, and food meant moving to pon-ish and a self-watering pot, and regular feeding. Once those were all accomplished, he took off. More leaves, and new vines and new leaves in lots of new places.

I’d almost given up hope for this guy, but I’m glad I didn’t and kept working it until I figured it out. ‘Cause this is the only kind of blizzard I want to see for a long time.

I’ll keep you posted.
