Hoya rigidifolia

I think it’s one of the most unique leaves in hoyadom. There are others with more splash, that are variegated, that are undulate, that are tiny, that are huge. But Hoya rigidifolia, with those marginal recesses, just nails it.

For a very long time I only had two of those incredible leaves to look at. Those leaves and I got to know each other well. Perhaps they simply tired of my pleas for just a couple more and sent out a vine and stocked it with leaves to silence me. Had I known whining at your hoyas would help I would have started sooner.

He seems happy with his location and set-up, pon-ish and self-watering, though it looks like I may need to upgrade the trellis. Which I can do, but for right now I’m just going to let things be, it ain’t broke.

I knew I needed this hoya the first time I saw it, I just didn’t know how much. I know I say it about all my hoyas, but for my money, this is one of my favorites.

I’ll keep you posted.
