It’s no secret that I love Hoya lacunosa. It could be my favorite species out of all the hoya, but I’d have to think about that for a while before I’d testify to it. It’s sure up there on the list.
These two, Hoya lacunosa ‘Laos’ and Hoya lacunosa ‘Poonsak’, went on my wish list the first time I saw them. They were appealing for different reasons; Laos for the variegation and Poonsak for the leaf shape. It took a while to find them, Laos in particular.
The first Poonsak came from a seller who I have since learned is notorious for sending out lousy plants. It was sun-stressed beyond recognition and arrived in rough shape. I thought I could save it. I couldn’t and it didn’t last long. Won’t be buying from them again, ever. This is the second and he’s doing fine. The Laos arrived fine and is doing fine.
They got here about the same time, and it took a bit before they settled into their new homes. But since then, they’re loving life in pon-ish on the grow shelves and pushing out the leaves that I love. Woo-hoo.
I’m taking a bit of a vacation, but when I return, I’m sure there will be lots to update about my houseplant adventures.
I’ll keep you posted.
