Hoya crassipetiolata and I have been hanging out for so long I get to call her Crassy. But if there was ever a hoya that I could call stagnant, it would be she, her, whichever. No signs of life for so long that I regularly checked to see if she was still alive.
She was, so I kept giving her good light, tending to her well, speaking encouragingly to her, and hoping for the best. Then I made a change to the feeding regimen for all my hoyas, and I noticed new growth almost everywhere. But not with Crassy. Until this weekend. Boom.
Two new growth points and lots of amazing little crassipetiolata leaves. Boom indeed. After all this time girl finally got what she wanted and sent out a big old thank you. I’m excited, ’cause she’s a really pretty plant and I’ve had hopes and expectations for so long. No pressure though.
I’m taking a little trip soon, and if this is what she can do in just a few days, I can’t wait to see what she will accomplish in a week. Maybe more booms.
I’ll keep you posted.
