For a very long time these two hoyas, Hoya scortechinii and Hoya parviflora, were one leaf wonders. Seriously, just one leaf each, very long time, like six months long time. I had begun to despair of growth.
I gave them grow lights. I gave them pon-ish. I gave them self-watering and good nutrients. Nada. Then around the first of March they decided they were done with just hanging out. Parviflora started pushing out new leaves and scortechinii started vining. I’ve got no clue, just one of those hoya mysteries.
I do ok with growing hoyas now, though I’m often not sure of the why. You try this, you try that. Sometimes making just one seemingly minor change changes everything, and suddenly the hoya is happy. Someday I’ll tell you about my burmanica and why didn’t I do that months ago…
But I’m getting leaves from these guys now, which is why I wanted these two in the first place. One leaf wonders no more, these two are on their way.
I’ll keep you posted.
