I have happily resigned myself to my plummet down the Hoya rabbit hole. No complaining, no struggle, with joyful abandon I took that leap. Little did I know how little I did know.
I didn’t know, for example, that rabbit holes have rabbit holes of their own; sub rabbit holes as it were. I didn’t know that until I discovered the sub rabbit hole of Hoya lacunosa. If people say that all Hoyas look the same, they really say that about lacunosa. They are of course wrong. They’re all snowflakes.
What gets you trapped is that they’re so darn easy to grow, at least they have been for me. They bloom, readily and easily, with no effort on my part. The flowers look almost fuzzy and the scent is enthralling. That’s how you get trapped; and when you learn that there are lots of different lacunosa, it all over.
So here are the latest additions to the lacunosa sub-collection: Asami Clone 2, Mr Tent, and Giant Leaf. I can’t wait ‘til they get settled in and start doing their lacunosa thing.
I’ll keep you posted.
