small hoya haul

It’s official. I’ve fallen down that Hoya rabbit hole, more of a leap than a fall actually. I had been poking around the edges and wondering about the twists and turns down there. But this summer I threw caution to the wind and jumped head first into the void. Cuttings were my undoing.

My first experience with a cutting didn’t go well, and I swore I’d never do that again. Going forward, only established plants. A year passed and Hoya plants got expensive. I tried a cutting again and it worked, so I tried another. It, too, grew. Then I found a good source for cuttings and oh well…

Most of them aren’t yet developed enough to warrant a video of their own, but they deserve their moment. Online videos are how I discovered most of my plants; I didn’t know they existed until I saw someone’s video. No local nursery could possibly offer the variety of plants I’ve discovered online. So my contribution to this discussion is to make videos highlighting plants I’ve discovered, so that other people can discover them too.

I’m no expert, just another adventurer; and each new acquisition is something of an adventure. I have an idea of how I think it will go, how I hope it will go, but as I said, I’m no expert. I’m just stubborn enough to keep trying.

I’ll keep you posted.
