This fellow had been on my wish list for a while; since I first saw it in a YouTube video. I think Scindapsus treubii ‘Moonlight’ ended up on everyone’s list. Then suddenly they were available, and I found one at a big box. And since today’s the lunar eclipse, and he’s a moonlight…
It is, of course, all about the foliage; both the size and the color. I couldn’t figure out if I wanted to have it trailing or climbing. There were plenty of cuttings in the pot, so I opted for answer “C”, both.
For me, Moonlight is a slow grower. It’s a steady grower, but a slow grower. Both the trailer and the climber seem in no rush to get anywhere. They get pretty much the same care, though the climber does get decidedly more light; so it’s probably not that. It’s not that I’m disappointed; I just want more of it, particularly the climber. I want to see what those leaves do when they have something to climb.
But the weather is warmer, and there’s more sunlight so I’ll see what this summer brings. Some things you just can’t force, and if you could, it probably wouldn’t be a good idea anyway. I’ll keep you posted.
