I’ve featured this little guy three times in my Instagram feed. The first was when he had just arrived. The second was when I moved him to bark and he’d put out some new growth. Now it looks like the bark was a good call because he’s definitely in grow mode.
This is Dischidia ruscifolia. Dischidia are related to Hoya. So when this guy first arrived I gave him the same standard, internet-recommended, care that I gave my Hoya. That care was, of course, completely wrong; for both Dischidia and for Hoya. At least he didn’t die before learned that a lot of “plant truths” from the internet aren’t truths at all.
He was, in fact, my first “alive, then thrive” plant. Seeing this little guy take off has been a treat. I love the “thrive” part of the slogan. He made me brave about Dischidia, so I’ve added a second variety, and then a third.
I’ll keep you posted.
