Iโve tried several different plant foods over the years, and theyโre all been equally good. But thereโs only one that has made a visible difference, SUPERthrive.
Iโm not an expert or a botanist. My understanding is that, in addition to being a nitrogen heavy organic plant food, it contains mycorrhizae and endomycorrhizal. These are fungi that are found in and around the roots of most plants and they increase the water and nutrient absorption capabilities of the plant. Together they reduce transplant shock and encourage root growth.
I recently ran out of SUPERthrive and so just used my standard plant food alone. The plants were fine, but they seemed to stop growing. After two weeks the slowdown was noticeable. I ordered more SUPERthrive and started using it again in conjunction with my standard plant food, and the plants started growing again.
I mix it according to the directions and use it as part of my regular growth season watering.
