tillandsia ionanthe

We’ve been friends for a long time; a really long time. We don’t always share the same interest in the same plants, but we share the same interest in the growing of plants. We’re the kind of friends that, when she says “those are interesting”, you take note.

So I’m walking through Briggs Nursery in North Attleboro, and they had trays of Tillandsia. The prices seemed very reasonable. I remember that Beth told me she had a couple of them and that they were “interesting”. I’d never grown them, didn’t know too much about them, but she said they were interesting so I gotta try one. Or two.

They come home with me. I give them a soak. Put a dried branch in a pot of gravel. Put the two Tillandsia ionantha – they weren’t labeled and I’m new at this, so I could be wrong – in the forks of the branch… and I need more of these. She was right, they are interesting. Oh good, just what I need, another plant obsession. Thanks, Beth. This can’t end well, look at what happened when I discovered Hoya.

I’ll keep you posted.
