He’s quirky, he’s funny, and I’ve learned more about growing Hoyas from Miro than from anyone else.
While it’s easy to appreciate his delightful sense of humor – he never takes himself too seriously – it’s the amount of behind the scenes research that make the videos a great resource. As you listen it becomes clear that the guy has done his homework; and if that research is inconclusive, he’s the first to say so. If he doesn’t know the answer, he doesn’t try to fake it.
Though most of them are focused on Hoyas, there are videos covering many other topics, including: his experiment with a grow tent, the orchids in his collection, and growing philodendron verrucosum. The “30 Days of Hoya” series is a great resource I still refer to regularly. He also revisits a topic when he has more information or it’s time to follow up on a particular plant’s progress.
Miro has an Instagram account and a Facebook page, but it’s the YouTube videos that are the real treats. I’m a subscriber and I signed up to get notifications of new videos because I don’t want to miss any of them.
